Just me and my two catsIt has been one year and change since I moved across country, from San Francisco to Greenville, South Carolina.
Why, you ask? It was time to try a new town that was less expensive and less trashed, for lack of better word. I have learned the dogs here have a certain element of "being in nature" that I didn't see as much in California. I got a one year old puppy in November 2021, and that was the Best Decision of My Life. I named her Toffee because she's the color and sweetness of toffee. Toffee taught me a lot about dog ownership. She is a Carolina Dog, as it turns out and she is Pure Organic LOVE. When we go hiking, people are always complementing what a "good dog" she is (she is) and I always beam with pleasure. We are a good team. There is a kinship with me and animals and I can only say I truly try to hone the sense between us. I approach with empathy and internally ask myself, "If I were a dog..." Being perceptive towards your dog and observing them in their happiest is the pinnacle to rewarding good behavior. Find their stimuli and use it!!! Toffee has taken to my cats. She knows they are VERY important to Mommy and she is nothing short of SMART. Here's to pet ownership, they truly save us!!!! And here's to Toffee, Smokey & Marbles.
